Electricity systems, whose production has so far been based primarily on coal-fired power plants, present much more space for the expansion of renewable energies than is often assumed.
Coal-fired power plants could adapt their electricity production much more flexibly to the fluctuating feed of wind and solar power plants than has often been suspected.
This is the result of a study that Prognos created jointly along with Fichtner on behalf of the Agora Energiewende.
