Is Prognos looking for employees?

Yes, we are always looking for new colleagues who would like to play an active part in shaping the future with us. You can find all open positions online in our job portal. However, we are also looking forward to receiving your meaningful speculative application. Most of the application procedures take place on site at one of our office locations. With a view to our sustainable corporate strategy and depending on the situation of the applicants, job interviews can also take place digitally.

What are the career options?

The possibilities are diverse: From permanent employment for young talent or the professionally experienced to trainee positions, work placements, and internships. Take a look at our current vacancies or apply on your own initiative.

Our internships are aimed at students and university graduates wanting to gain practical experience during or directly after successfully completing their studies.

What about speculative applications?

Of course we also accept speculative applications; Prognos is always looking for new talent. For speculative applications, please also use our straightforward application portal.

Can I apply for more than one job?

Of course, you can also apply for two positions or for several consulting fields in parallel. Please indicate this in our online application portal and let us know in your cover letter.

How can I apply?

Have you found an interesting job offer that matches your profile and your ideas? For your application, please use our online application portal.

You should have the following documents ready:

  • Curriculum vitae
  • School or study/internship certificates
  • Employment references
  • Brief cover letter

How can I prepare for the online interview? Tips for your interview.

  • Don't worry about failing technology. Prepare everything in good time and switch off any possible interference (smartphone ring tone, doorbell, music). A successful interview shows the safe handling of modern communication technologies.
  • Choose a suitable background (e. g., plain walls) and ensure sufficient lighting. Natural light is best, and your face should be evenly lit and shadow-free – if possible, sit facing the window.
  • Create proximity despite the distance – show virtual presence and authenticity.
  • Wear a professional outfit that you would have chosen had the interview been face to face. It is important that you do not feel like you are dressed up.
  • Connect a few minutes before the appointment – to try out the technology, but also to enable some small talk at the beginning of the call. It can help create a more relaxed atmosphere if we can have a chat before the interview starts.

What can I expect from the onboarding process and the first working days?

As soon as the first working day approaches, our new colleague will receive all the necessary information for their start at Prognos and the first working day. We have created various formats for our newcomers’ initial training period to make the arrival at our company easier. Onboarding videos where experienced employees present their respective areas of the company – from sightseeing tours through our subject areas, the presentation of our model worlds, an intro to our corporate culture and mission statement, and information on some central units such as IT, human resources, works council, and company communication. At the “Newcomers Day” – a casual format that we established several years ago – all new colleagues can exchange ideas with each other but also to fire questions at the “old hands.”

New colleagues can particularly look forward to the onboarding talks. With the virtual or personal 1:1 interviews, we want to promote social interaction and integration into the company. The human resources department organises the video calls, and a few dialogue partners are chosen. With a tea or coffee, it is time to meet and have a professional but informal exchange. In addition, many teams organise their own coffee meetings.

What has changed since the pandemic?

Many of the digital measures will continue after the corona pandemic – not least for reasons of sustainability. For example, only having to travel to one interview instead of two or not producing onboarding folders on paper, saves stress, CO2, and waste. So, what can be digitised without losing important human contact will remain digitised. Nevertheless, we always return to on-site formats where the focus is on getting to know each other personally and induction training if the hygiene measures in force permit. Many measures therefore continue to take place digitally – but we continue to attach great importance to empathy, personality, interpersonal meetings, corporate culture, and community. We look forward to meeting you personally on site.

Does Prognos support master’s theses?

We would be happy to supervise your master’s thesis in consultation with your university. Whether we have points of reference in our existing projects, or you have suitable topics for us, let us know! The aim is for you to gain your first practical experience parallel to your master’s thesis.

What is the difference between a work placement and an internship?

At Prognos, work placements are for students who studying and have not yet obtained an academic degree. Internships are for people who have already obtained a degree (e. g., a BA).

In our experience, internships have proved to be useful for both sides when they last for six months. A certain period of familiarisation is necessary in order to be able to contribute successfully to the project work. Of course, there are exceptions. Come and see us.
