In September, five colleagues took a look behind the scenes of the nursing profession. They spent a whole day at the Pauline Heye day Care in Gerresheim, Düsseldorf, a competence centre for dementia operated by the Diaconia. First, in the morning, they received an introduction to dementia. The Düsseldorf team then took a trip to the Südpark in Düsseldorf together with the residents of the day care centre. In perfect weather, they enjoyed lots of walking, discovering, talking, and laughing. After a leisurely break at the Südpark café everyone headed back together to the day care. After a positive review meeting with the head of the day facility and its residents, it was quickly decided that there will be further action days in the future with the Pauline Heye day care facility.
