From the 17th to the 25th of June 2023, thousands of athletes with intellectual and multiple disabilities competed across 26 sports. The sporting event took place in Berlin and for the first time in Germany. Prognos put together six volunteering teams In total, around 20,000 volunteers supported the big event. At the heart of it, our six teams helped out at table tennis, roller skating, sailing, tennis, cycling, and basketball events – from wearing life jackets and fetching balls to cheerleading. As a company, Prognos not only covered the organisation and accommodation but also freed all volunteers from their duties for three, paid working days. What a difference: around 2,000 working hours for an inclusive world! Commitment any time, anywhere – including our expertise “So many colleagues accepted our invitation to volunteer for several days – this is a response that makes us proud,” says Managing Director Christian Böllhoff. “We live diversity” is one of Prognos AG’s guiding principles. And as researchers, we also work on inclusion issues. For example, the Health, Care & Inclusion team investigated the “Implementation of the UN Convention on the disability of persons in Baden-Württemberg” and evaluated “Supplementary independent participation counselling in Germany” over a five-year period.
