Neysan Khabirpour is the Deputy Head of EU-Services at Prognos AG’s Brussels Office, strategically supporting the provision of Prognos’ vast thematic expertise across the EU market.

At Prognos, he focuses on socio-economic policy, particularly in the areas of labour markets, demographic change, and regional development. Ongoing flagship projects include leading the Technical Assistance pillar of the Harnessing Talent Platform (DG REGIO), which seeks to address the consequences of demographic change and brain drain across the EU, as well as a study on the impact of overlapping dynamics (demographic, green & digital transitions) on regional labour markets. Prior to joining Prognos, he worked in the Economic Analysis and Policy Development Unit of DG Regio at the European Commission. In this capacity, he principally contributed to The State of European Cities (2016) report as well as the Lagging Regions Initiative (2017). With two colleagues, he also co-authored a paper on the economic resilience of European regions, titled: Location Matters: A spatial econometric analysis of regional resilience in the European Union.

Neysan Khabirpour holds an M.Sc. in Economics from the Ludwig Maximilian University of Munich. Prior, he completed a B.A. in Economics & Political Science at McGill University. He speaks English and German fluently and French at an intermediate level.
