Sebastian Lübbers is a Senior Project Manager at Prognos AG and heads the Carbon Management division. His work focuses on CCS/CCU, CO₂ infrastructure and negative emissions. He examines the techno-economic and regulatory frameworks for the capture, transport, utilisation and storage of CO₂, as well as for CO₂ removal from the atmosphere. In doing so, he deals with both the development of carbon management strategies and the establishment of CO₂ infrastructure in Germany and Europe.

He leads consultancy and research projects for public and private clients, particularly on issues relating to the decarbonisation of industry and the energy sector. Another key focus of his work is the European regulatory framework for CCS and negative emissions, as well as the development of cross-border CO₂ transport infrastructure.

Before joining Prognos in 2018, he gained professional experience at an environmental consultancy and a climate research institute. He studied industrial engineering, specialising in energy economics, in Berlin, Braunschweig and Budapest.
