Application DINOS (Dynamic Input Output System) is Prognos’ global sectoral and trade model. The model is made for sector-specific and trade policy analyses in which the effects of a wide variety of stimuli on the sectors and the overall economy of the countries concerned are to be determined. Typical areas of application for the model include the evaluation of subsidy and investment programmes, the analysis of supply or demand shocks, and industrial and transformation policy scenarios with significant international spillover and feedback effects. Model core At the heart of the model is an input-output table covering 46 countries and 36 sectors, which maps the production and trade linkages within the global economy. During the simulation period, the input-output table is updated annually. The time horizon can extend up to 2060 at the latest. Key economic variables such as prices and wages, technical progress, foreign trade and the demand for labour and capital goods are modelled at sectoral level.
