„Living diversity in all its facets is a topic close to my heart.“
Melanie Nogossek

On German Diversity Day on 27 May, Prognos makes it clear that inclusion is not just lip service for us, but a living part of our corporate culture – with clear goals and genuine commitment.

Prognos already employs colleagues with various disabilities who are integrated into everyday working life and supported by technical and organisational measures. But we don’t want to stop there: we want to become even better. With a company-wide inclusion agreement (PDF in German), we have committed ourselves to further breaking down barriers and continuously improving working conditions. Our goal is to create a fair and inclusive working environment in which people with disabilities can participate on an equal basis.

Diversity as a strength: Action day with a change of perspective

Under the motto Open to new perspectives, the representative committee for severely disabled employees and the People with Disabilities working group invited all colleagues to experience a change of perspective for themselves on this year’s Diversity Day. Through simulation exercises – on site in Berlin and Düsseldorf as well as digitally – employees were able to experience how everyday work situations are perceived with a visual, hearing or mobility impairment.

Insights into digital aids, exchange formats such as a brown bag lunch and the invitation to actively participate helped to create awareness for an inclusive working environment. The aim is to promote sensitivity, highlight good approaches and work together to identify and tackle those obstacles where we can still improve.

Conclusion: Diversity requires attitude – and concrete steps

Prognos is committed to an inclusive working environment – not because it sounds good, but because we want it. We are constantly working to improve. We see diversity as a strength and firmly believe that a working environment in which everyone can develop their potential is a win-win situation for everyone.

What is German Diversity Day?

German Diversity Day is an annual day of action that promotes diversity and inclusion in the workplace and taking place on 27 May. The day of action was launched in 2012 by the Charta der Vielfalt and has since developed into an important event aimed at raising awareness of the importance of diversity in companies and institutions. The day provides a platform to showcase commitment to diversity and an appreciative, prejudice-free working culture.

German Diversity Day 2025 has the motto “When diversity wins, Germany wins” – a strong signal for an open society with equal opportunities. With our campaign, we are showing that diversity is not a one-off event for us, but an ongoing process.

Representative body for severely disabled employees in cooperation with the People with Disabilities working group

The working group is an internal company initiative founded by Melanie Nogossek and Joanna Hüffelmann, which works to make Prognos a more inclusive and accessible employer – for example, by assessing locations, making digital improvements and implementing measures to increase participation in meetings, events and travel. The working group currently comprises six employees.

Monika Baar represents the interests and rights of people with disabilities as a representative for severely disabled employees and supports them in their integration and participation in working life.
