Peer2Peer is a network of representatives from regional and national authorities in all EU Member States. They exchange information informally on topics related to EU cohesion policy and the Cohesion Fund. The European Commission launched the initiative in 2016. Since then, twelve thematic communities have been established to share knowledge and best practices in order to make more targeted use of funding. Prognos recently took over the management of the Circular Economy Community.
The project is primarily aimed at administrative staff who manage, certify or audit funding programmes such as the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF), the Cohesion Fund or the Just Transition Fund. By promoting knowledge and best practices, the project makes a key contribution to the efficient use of public funds.
The REGIO Peer2Peer project offers public authorities a platform to jointly address challenges in EU regional and urban policy. The aim is to stay up to date with the latest developments through workshops, webinars and interactive discussions and to develop innovative approaches for implementing funding programmes.
Community managers support members in organising events and planning thematic meetings. The communities focus on key topics such as fund management and administrative processes. Regular meetings – online and on site – promote exchange and the development of effective solutions. In this way, the project strengthens administrative and technical competence in the implementation of EU programmes in the long term.
