Sven Altenburg studied economic and social geography with a specialisation in spatial development at the University of Trier and has been employed at Prognos since 2014, where he has been Head of Mobility & Transport since 2020. Previously, he worked for six years as a research assistant at the Institute for Transport Planning and Logistics at the Technical University of Hamburg-Harburg.

He has many years of experience in dealing with a wide range of issues and is therefore proficient in a large set of quantitative and qualitative methods at the interface of transport, spatial and social sciences.

Sven Altenburg is responsible for "Mobility 4.0" at Prognos, which deals specifically with the effects of future technologies in transport. In this function, he deals with issues such as automated driving and digitalisation in transport and develops adaptation strategies in the fields of online retail and smart city.
