For a strong democracy and an open society

Every day, we help decision-makers shape a future worth living – in over 250 projects annually. 

In addition, we are committed to democracy and an open society. An internal initiative group is dedicated to this cause, and its activities are supported by significant resources from the management.

Focus on impact and community

1. Area of action: Clear commitment internally and externally

We don’t just talk – but we do talk. The company and its management verbally show their support for what keeps us alive as an organisation and the entire economy: the social market economy, liberal democracy, a strong Europe and an open society.

2. Area of action: Entrepreneurial decisions and guidance from the employer

We create clarity – and offer protection. We do not leave our teams alone with difficult political considerations, but advise and decide at management level. If our employees experience anti-science sentiment, hatred and incitement in their everyday project work, we stand behind them.

3. Area of action: Looking inward – “Starting with ourselves”

We take responsibility externally – but not only. The consequences of polarisation, (international) conflicts and a culture of outrage affect society as a whole. We actively work to maintain our healthy culture of discussion and corporate culture and question our own biases.

4. Area of action: Voluntary work

We don’t just donate – but we do donate. We regularly support the work of those who are most knowledgeable about preserving democracy and an open society: associations with many years of expertise. We want to bring them the greatest possible benefit. That’s why we support them with pro bono projects, expertise and working hours, preferably in a cross-team and interdisciplinary manner. Monetary donations serve as a supplement at most.

We focus on community engagement

In 2023, the need for engagement grew due to increasing hostility towards democracy, human rights and science. An initiative group was formed, comprising senior management, corporate communications and volunteers from the workforce.

The group encourages Prognos AG to engage in activities in these areas, develops appropriate approaches, and coordinates campaigns and volunteer work.
