Technological innovations offer promising solutions for meeting these challenges. The Fraunhofer Institute for Computer Graphics Research (IGD) offers software solutions in the field of visual computing – a key area of image- and model-based computer science.
A central focus of the institute is on the conversion of information into images and vice versa. These technologies help individuals, the economy and society to understand large amounts of data and complex systems in order to make informed decisions. They digitise, optimise and automate processes. Concrete applications can be found in industry and manufacturing, the automotive sector, healthcare or surveillance technology.
In a series of analysis papers, Prognos and the Fraunhofer IGD show how exactly these technologies help to overcome societal challenges. With statistical analyses, we prove the significance of the innovations of the Fraunhofer IGD.
