How family conscious a company is plays an increasingly significant role in whether an employee chooses to work there and what ties they have to the company. In order to attract workers in an progressively competitive environment, companies should be aware of and respond to the different family needs of workers.
Since 2006, with its “Success Factor Family,” the Federal Ministry for Family Affairs, Senior Citizens, Women and Youth (BMFSFJ) has been working together with the leading associations of the German economy (BDA, DIHK, ZDH) and the German Trade Union Confederation (DGB) to promote a family-friendly world of work.
The goal of convincing companies of the advantages of improving the balance between family and work and of positioning corporate family awareness as a tough competitive and location factor remains the same. The strength of the programme is repeatedly accentuating this goal against the background of changing social and economic conditions – and thus providing companies with the up-to-date relevance of family-conscious personnel policy and a corresponding translation of the advantages.
Based on scientific research, Prognos places various facets of the compatibility of family and work on the agenda of company personnel policy. Economic arguments are central to this. Prognos will calculate the benefits of family-conscious personnel policy and will also look at opportunity costs arising from a lack of compatibility. These results will be announced at events and in dialogue with cooperation partners.
