The Federal Government's projection report describes how greenhouse gas emissions in Germany are expected to develop in the years up to 2050 and shows whether the climate protection targets can be achieved with the instruments adopted to date.
Prognos and its partners will support the preparation of the 2025 to 2027 projections under the leadership of the Öko-Institut.
For the projection reports, the Prognos project team will be responsible for coordinating and defining the framework data (including economic development, population, energy prices, CO2 prices), modelling district heating generation, modelling electricity generation abroad and mapping CO2 flows. Prognos will also carry out a second modelling exercise in the building sector for the 2025 reporting year in order to obtain a more reliable estimate of target achievement in the building sector.
