Application The envigos model analyses the economic significance of the environmental economy and its development. Associated green tech industries include renewable energy, energy efficiency, circular economy, climate protection, bioeconomy, and sustainable mobility. The model uses a comprehensive set of indicators based on official statistical data to describe the green industries’ economic aspects in terms of employment, value added, production, trade, or innovation. The model can be applied to different geographical levels from the world market to the district level. Model core The model includes several hundred economic activities to deliver environmental technological goods and services and analyses the green industries’ value chains. The model is based on and is compatible with the international statistical classification systems (e. g., WZ, GP, NACE, PRODCOM, WA/HS/CN, CPC) to derive the economic indicators.
