From 2006 to 2023, Prognos formed the Competence Office for Effective Family Policy together with the Allensbach Institute for Demoscopy. The Competence Office worked on behalf of the Federal Ministry for Family Affairs, Senior Citizens, Women and Youth and provided scientific support, strategic advice, and accompanying demoscopic research on the current issues of family policy.
The project team’s work for the Competence Office included the preparation of brief information, detailed dossiers, and conducting studies on key topics of family policy. Based on the latest expert knowledge, the project team supported the development of concepts and instruments for shaping family policy in Germany. In addition, the Competence Office was closely networked with other experts working in the field of family policy. The project team planned and led workshops and symposia throughout Germany on behalf of the BMFSFJ, and also supported the ministry's public relations work.
