Cost-benefit analysis of family-friendly corporate policy

Client

Migros

Year

2010

In principle, family-friendly measures pay off for companies. In a model calculation, using data collected from selected companies and organisations from across Switzerland, it can be demonstrated that the immediate positive effects of a family-friendly personnel policy outweigh the costs of the measures.

Within the model calculation, assuming realistic effects, there was a return on investment of eight percent. The benefits for the company are higher return rates for employees after the birth of a child, returning to higher work quotas, and increased in-house career recruitment.
