The “Zukunftsatlas® 2007” is the update of the “Zukunftsatlas® 2004.” It provides information about the prospects of the 439 districts and independent cities in Germany (as of 2007).
The future index (overall ranking), which is made up of 29 indicators, shows the regional distribution of future opportunities and risks within Germany. An analysis of the indicators according to the two dimensions “strength” and “dynamic” allows the ranking to be differentiated into the current location strength on the one hand, and the development of the regions in recent years on the other. In addition, evaluations, and rankings in the areas of “Demography,” “Labour market,” “Social situation & prosperity,” and “Competition & innovation” are compiled.
